Up to 60% of the human body is made up of water - we need it for so many things! Water helps our bodies keep from getting too hot or too cold, makes our bodily fluids, and keeps organs functioning and doing their jobs. Dehydration is when the body doesn’t have enough water to keep doing all of these important things. It happens when people lose more water than they are drinking, either by sweating too much or getting sick. When people get dehydrated, they can get dizzy and have headaches, as well as other serious health problems. To treat hydration, people need to drink water and replace electrolytes in their body by drinking special sports drinks.
